Victim in fatal Conyers apartment shooting identified

Conyers police Tuesday were investigating a predawn shooting that left a man dead.

Police spokeswoman Kim Lucas said that officers responding to a 3 a.m. call about a person shot at the Meadow Crossing Apartments in the 1100 block of Millcrest Walk found 24-year-old Jarvis Hughey fatally shot inside his apartment.

The 911 caller was not able to provide a description of the shooter, as she was essentially hiding in the apartment when she called, Lucas said Tuesday afternoon. “We’re canvassing the area at this time, making contact with anyone in the area, asking if they heard or saw anything suspicious.”
