Two lanes were temporarily closed on I-285 in Cobb County on Tuesday afternoon after an excavator fell over, officials said.

The incident happened at about 1:50 p.m. in the area of Cumberland Boulevard and Spring Road, Cobb fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd said. The worker operating the excavator — which was “moving a trench box when it turned over,” Boyd said — was transported with minor injuries.

Two lanes of eastbound I-285 were temporarily closed at I-75. An exact opening time was unclear, but original estimates called for the lanes to be open by 4 p.m.
