Two donkeys were found mauled to death in Louisville, Kentucky, several miles from where eight llamas were killed last week, WDRB reported.
The animals, named Hody and Guido, were found dead Sunday morning by their owner, Louisville Metro Animal Services spokeswoman Teeya Barnes told the Louisville Courier-Journal..So far, investigators have not linked the attacks on the donkeys and llamas to each other, WDRB reported.
Kevin Kelly, a spokesman with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, said a wildlife biologist examined the donkeys, but a cause of death wasn't apparent.
Nann Williamson, the owner of the donkeys, is trying to figure out what attacked her animals.
"I can't imagine them dying without making noise ... noise that I wouldn't hear," Williamson told WDRB. "I came outside, and I couldn't find them. Then I couldn't believe when I saw Hody over there and Guido over here. I just couldn't believe it."
Williamson told the televisions station that the donkeys, which she owned for 20 years, were gentle in nature. She added that she expected the donkeys to live until they were 60.
"I was going to have to put them in my will," Williamson told WDRB.
