After Monday’s gray sky, North Georgia can expect a little more sunshine Tuesday.
There is no significant rain or sleet in the forecast to keep things looking dour, according to Channel 2 Action News. While sunshine will increase late in the day Tuesday, Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said not all will be able to enjoy it equally.
“If you live on the Eastside, you will see a little more sun than if you live on the Westside,” he said. “You’re not really going to need the sunglasses today with some limited glimpses of sun.”
Monahan said the system that brought the cold rain and wintry weather to parts of North Georgia on Monday is winding down along the East Coast. As it moves away, the leftover mist and drizzle will come to an end and the clouds will begin to thin out, he said.
It will still be chilly Tuesday. Atlanta is expected to reach a high of 49 degrees, according to Channel 2.
While North Georgia can expect about three hours of sunshine Tuesday, Monahan said it can look forward to six hours Wednesday and nine hours Thursday. Things are certainly looking up, he said.
More sunshine Wednesday will also mean warmer weather, with a projected high of 51 degrees.
“Thursday is going to be a really nice day around here,” Monahan said. “Under a mostly sunny sky, we’ll be in the mid- to upper 50s.”
