Two people were arrested Wednesday following a police chase that blocked the eastbound lanes of I-285 in Clayton County for more than hour.

Authorities said the chase began when a driver went through a road check, refused to stop and nearly hit several officers. The pursuit ended near Jonesboro Road.

“No report of injuries,” police told Channel 2 Action News in an emailed statement. “This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available.”

The interstate reopened about 2:45 p.m after the suspects were taken into custody, police said.

Details about the suspects and the charges they are facing have not been released.
