An east-west thoroughfare in Cobb County shut down today for four weeks due to construction.

Contractors will close the westbound through lanes on Stilesboro Road near where it meets Paul Samuel Road to replace a water main, said the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority. That's right by Cobb fire station No. 24.

“This project will impede traffic heavily in the area during working hours. You may want to find alternative routes, if possible,” the agency advised.

There are multiple water projects happening in Cobb, including the once-in-a-generation job of creating the East Cobb Pipeline, which has also caused road closures.
