The Georgia Department of Transportation now has a data-sharing partnership with Waze, the free, real-time crowdsourcing app that has the world’s largest community of participating drivers, Georgia DOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said Thursday.
Georgia DOT is providing construction and road-closure data to Google-owned Waze, which can help users find better detours around major traffic events, Strickland said.
Atlanta, Johns Creek and Bartow County already are sharing traffic data with Waze.
