Investigators temporarily blocked off a section of the South Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport due to a suspicious package Friday afternoon. But it was determined to be safe, an airport spokesman said.

The package, which appeared to be luggage, was found on the lower level, according to Reese McCranie, airport spokesman.

Passenger traffic was been affected, McCranie said.
