Each year Family 2 Family and the Children's Restoration Network help thousands of kids go back to school with the supplies they need.

Channel 2's Consumer Advisor Clark Howard has the story of one student who said those supplies mean more that you think.
Howard said that this school season, besides getting your kids ready for school, you should consider helping children that are homeless or children that are in foster group homes.
Jasmine Myrick, 21, was in and out of foster care from the first grade on. “You never really know where you’re gonna go next,” Myrick told Howard.

Myrick said her first day of school meant more than a new grade; often, it meant a new school as well.
“I did have anxiety, I was always nervous,” Myrick told Howard. “You have to meet new friends, it’s like you have to start all over again.”
Myrick said that supplies from efforts like Stuff the Bus helped relieve her anxiety.
“It just makes you feel a little more comfortable walking into school. You don’t have to worry about borrowing a sheet of paper from someone you don’t know or talking to your teacher about supplies. You already have them,” Myrick said.
Myrick, who is now a student at Georgia State University, wants everyone to know that donating makes a huge difference and she has a message for kids in foster care now.
"Education is your future, just focus on your future, what your passion is and turn it into your career," Myrick said. "You don't have nothing to worry about."
