Stockbridge soldier killed in Afghanistan

An Army sergeant from Henry County was one of two soldiers killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Sgt. Eric T. Lawson, 30, of Stockbridge, died Saturday in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. Lawson and Spc. Caryn E. Nouv, 29, of Newport News, Va., both died from wounds sustained in the attack, the DOD said.
Lawson and Nouv were assigned to the 10th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade, out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.
