Pope Francis is donating his Harley Davidson motorcycle to help raise money for Rome's homeless. In other news, the pope had a Harley?

According to the National Catholic Register, profits from the eventual sale of the bike will help fund a renovation of a hostel and a soup kitchen.

The pope is well known for his simple and modest existence. As a cardinal in Argentina he would regularly take a public bus when he could have opted for a private car and driver.

In a recent speech to Church seminarians, he said those in the clergy should also think about how they spend their money on their personal expenses, including their transportation options, "If you like that beautiful car, think about how many children are dying of hunger,”

Instead of riding in the traditional 'Popemobile,' Pope Francis now drives a Renault with nearly 200,000 miles on it.
