Police presence to increase after bullets found at Fulton school

April 2, 2015

There will be an increased police presence at a Fulton County high school Friday after several bullets were located inside a bathroom.

In a letter addressed to parents Thursday, North Springs Charter High School Assistant Principal Kira Griffith Willis said eight bullets were located inside a toilet paper dispenser at the Sandy Springs school.

“We don’t know how long the bullets have been there,” the letter said, “but after a thorough search, we can assure you that no gun or additional contraband was found.”

Willis wrote that there was “no indication of any threat,” but said additional school police will be at North Springs on Friday as a precaution.

“We are investigating this with all of our resources,” the letter said.

A school system spokeswoman told Channel 2 Action News that there was “nothing more specific to share.”
