A vehicle stolen during a carjacking last week at Phipps Plaza has been recovered.

The gray 2007 BMW 5-Series, was stolen after two men brutally beat the woman who was about to get into the car. Atlanta police confirm the car has been recovered, but say there is no other information that can be released at this time.

According to police, Michelle Wing was leaving Twist Restaurant & Tapas Bar at Phipps, just before midnight Aug. 4, when she was assaulted by two men in their 20s as she approached her BMW.

Wing told police that after beating her for about two minutes, the suspects took her keys and her purse and drove off in her car. Witnesses in the area heard the victim scream and called 911.

The investigation into the assault, robbery and car theft is ongoing.
