Luckovich’s one-sided opinions get tiresome

I am a strong supporter of “freedom of the press.” However, too much critique of any one subject or person, can get very frustrating. Obviously, Mike Luckovich is a staunch Democrat. Therefore, we are subjected to his political cartoons daily degrading Donald Trump and the Republican party. It is getting very old. Too much of anything is annoying. Does Mr. Luckovich think that his scurrilous opinions of Mr. Trump will get anyone to change their mind about him? For the sake of fairness, please refrain from pushing your one-sided views on others daily.

Let’s be more courageous on gun control

Once again: outrageous numbers of innocent people killed with an assault rifle.

Again, the NRA wants more guns on the street. Again, Congress is too afraid of the NRA to save lives. Again, everyone says “never again.” “Never again” will never happen unless everyone shows courage: the NRA must be brave and change position — acknowledge that citizens have no need for assault rifles. Congress must be brave and ban assault rifle ownership by civilians. Citizens must be brave and demand assault rifle bans and “sacrifice” assault rifle ownership for the good of the many.

Both sides need to be courageous and trust each other a bit and listen to each other a bit, and acknowledge that the status quo means more and more and more gun deaths – maybe in the hundreds next time. It’s not about ideologies; it’s about individuals with legal access to horrifying amounts of firepower.
