Today’s education page addresses two controversial topics in Georgia: A trial attorney and former state legislator from Gainesville argues it was a grave mistake to criminally prosecute the educators implicated in the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal; and a Republican school board member from rural Georgia says his party ought to be thrilled with the Common Core State Standards rather than suspicious of them. Also, readers sound off on the results of last week’s closely watched school board elections in Atlanta.
