Is it fair to hold former high school students accountable for passing a test the state has since decided is no longer relevant? Thousands of Georgians lack a high school diploma because they failed a portion of the discarded Georgia High School Graduation Test. I discuss the Legislature’s proposal to free those students from the testing requirement, and readers weigh in with their views on the issue. In a guest column, the Druid Hills High School student body president says the proposed annexation into Atlanta threatens the qualities that made the school so effective and enriching.
