Atlanta Forward: Immigration

President Barack Obama has announced he will use his executive powers to act unilaterally on immigration, allowing some 5 million undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. and work without the threat of deportation. His executive order followed a congressional stalemate over a bipartisan bill that was passed in the Senate but stalled in the House. Today, a local immigration lawyer and a member of the state’s immigration enforcement review board share opposing views of the president’s decision.
