Florida first-grader Aden Meredith thought he was about six days away from seeing his father, John Meredith, a Navy aircraft mechanic.
Little did he know that it was only a matter of moments, as he was in for a big surprise while attending Lakeside Elementary School in Orange Park on Monday.
Aden's teacher, Danielle Knotts, helped organize the surprise.
The students were in the open field/picnic table area of campus when Meredith came to surprise his son. Aden and his classmates were listening to Assistant Principal Christy Fowler and Principal Dawn Wolfe talk about Patriot's Day and the fact that April is the Month of the Military Child.
