A DeKalb County man was arrested Monday for allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian with his car in Decatur eight months ago.

Omari Young, 39, was charged with vehicular homicide and hit-and-run in connection with the Feb. 2 death of Anthony Lingoes, the Decatur Police Department said in a statement.

The arrest came after “an extensive investigation, following up on every potential lead and tips that came in from the community,” the police department said.

Lingoes was struck after leaving the Trackside Tavern on East College Avenue at about 3 a.m. Police said at the time that a 2008 to 2014 Cadillac CTS likely hit Lingoes.
