According to the Huffington Post, there are thousands of spaces, outlined in pink, that are a little wider and a little longer than the standard parking space.

They're also better lit and closer to elevators and escalators.

Monitoring.com.au reported the city will be spending $100 million to create the spaces which is only part of a bigger push to make Seoul more female friendly.

Monitoring reported there are also 7000 new women-only toilets being installed and walkways are being resurfaced with a spongy material to help women who wear high heels.

The Daily Mail reported that this isn't the first time a town has catered to women drivers.  A German town had a similar initiative in 2012.  South Korea isn't alone either.  China, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia, Austria and Italy also have gender specific parking.
