Man wanted after car hits woman near West End mall
Atlanta police Tuesday were trying to find a driver who witnesses said struck and slightly injured a woman late Monday near West End mall.
The woman, identified in an Atlanta police incident report as Cassandra Gardner, had no broken bones but was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor chest pains.
Gardner was struck by the front right side of a Chevrolet Camaro in the 500 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard about 10 p.m. Monday, Atlanta police said.
According to the incident report, passenger Georgia Hinton said the Camaro was hers and that her boyfriend, Sanchez Hartnett, was driving the car.
Hinton told police that Hartnett stopped after hitting the woman, and both she and Hartnett got out of the Camaro.
“Ms. Hinton says she checked the victim to see if she was breathing and ran back to the car to call the police,” the report states.
Before police arrived, Hartnett left the scene on foot, Hinton told authorities.
Police have issued a lookout for Hartnett.
