Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one man injured early Saturday as he sat in his car at a Decatur red light, police said.

An officer was flagged down by the gunshot victim in the 600 block of East Lake Drive about 1:15 a.m., Decatur police said in a Facebook post.

The man told investigators he was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of East Lake Drive and Park Place when a man approached his car and fired a single shot through the driver’s-side window before running away.

Police said the shooter is between 40 and 45 years old, and was wearing a gray shirt and a black stocking cap. No additional details were released and an update on the injured man’s condition wasn’t immediately available Saturday morning.
