A search was under way Monday night to find the person who allegedly shot and killed a man at a north Fulton townhouse, according to police.

Officers and firefighters were called to the Whitestone Ridge community, off Old Milton Parkway, at 6:24 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that he witnessed a shooting, according to George Gordon, spokesman for Alpharetta police.

At the complex, officers found a man who had been shot in the lower abdominal area, Gordon said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to North Fulton Hospital, where his condition was not immediately, Gordon said. shortly after 10 p.m., Gordon said the man died from his injuries.

Investigators were attempting to identify the shooting suspect late Monday, he said.

No further details were released.
