Loganville and Snellville police collaborated on an investigation that led to the arrest of a man suspected of taking up-skirt pictures of women at Wal-Mart and Target.
Jay Williams was arrested Monday and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. He is charged with three counts of Peeping Tom and three counts of eavesdropping, according to jail records.
The two police departments identified Williams, who is on the sex offender registry, as a suspect in cases they were investigating, according to Channel 2 Action News. After victims picked him out of a lineup, investigators obtained arrest warrants and a search warrant, and officers, along with Gwinnett County deputies, went to his home and arrested him.
Authorities seized from Williams’ home items of clothing, glasses and cellphones as evidence, the latter of which will be searched for relevant photographs and data, the news station said.
Williams was convicted in 1998 of rape in the second degree in North Carolina, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s sex offender registry.
