An Atlanta police officer was injured when he was stung by a swarm of yellow jackets as he tried to arrest a man running away after a high-speed car chase, according to WSB TV.

Officers from the Atlanta Police Department's DUI Task Force had chased a man driving an SUV, which had been reported stolen, until he abandoned the Chevy Tahoe at West Wesley Road near Howell Mill Road in Buckhead.

According to the WSB account, the man ran behind a house and through some kudzu, followed by the officers. One of the cops ran through a swarm of yellow jackets that stung him multiple times on his arms and head. Some of the yellow jackets also stung the other four officers.

All were treated at a local hospital and released.

The suspected car thief, who was not identified, also was taken to the hospital to be treated for a head injury he suffered when he fell during the foot chase.
