Plans for Woodstock City Center, a mixed-use development expected to contain retailing, professional offices, restaurant space and a boutique hotel, have been announced for a 3.5 acre site at Arnold Mill Road and East Main Street in downtown Woodstock.

A Morgan’s Ace Hardware store at 109 East Main will be relocated elsewhere near downtown, creating the assemblage needed for City Center, officials said.

Morris & Fellows, developer of Woodstock Downtown and Alpharetta City Center, among other projects, has been named the city’s development partner.

“We reviewed numerous partner options and proposed plans, and Morris & Fellows is the clear choice based on their history of successful downtown redevelopments and their lower-density approach to address our needs and vision,” Woodstock Mayor Donnie Henriques said.

“This is the best location to add much-needed downtown parking,” according to a project announcement. Project timing and renderings will be released in the coming weeks and months as plans develop, officials said.
