The Woodstock Police Department has introduced its new brand identity with a new department patch, new uniform and a new vehicle design, with new patrol vehicles to follow later this year.

The new patch, symbolizing a protective shield, features a bald eagle, a banner displaying “With Honor and Courage,” a backing of olive branches, and the departmental core values of integrity, professionalism, service and teamwork, officials said.

The new uniform is all navy and is designed to lessen lower-back stress and adds features to reduce fatigue. New, modern vehicle graphics are a recognizable marking that incorporates the new patch design and increased reflective markings. Later this year, the department will phase in the 2018 Ford Explorer Interceptor as a patrol vehicle, with increased cabin space and better visibility.

“The new brand identity is a reflection of our department: professional, progressive, community-focused, and service-oriented,” said Woodstock Police Chief Calvin W. Moss.
