The Woodstock City Council has approved a conditional use permit to allow a chair massage business at the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta.

Albert Zabala, owner of Buena Vida Massage, requested permission to open the business in a breezeway of the Outlet Shoppes, 915 Ridgewalk Parkway. Buena Vida will start with one to two chairs and one state-licensed massage therapist, with hopes to add additional therapists depending on market demand, staff said in a report to the council.

The business would occupy a 10-foot-wide space in a breezeway 30 feet across, between the Fossil and Steve Madden stores, according to staff and a shopping center map. It would be roped off, charge $1 per minute for a chair massage, and be open the same hours and days as the center.

Buena Vida would meet all the requirements of the Woodstock massage ordinance adopted last December, staff said.
