Women win million-dollar prizes in Ga. Lottery

Two Georgia women have hit the jackpot.

Wanda Williams, 55, of McDonough, won $5 million after playing the instant game “Millionaire Jumbo Bucks,” and Kelly Bronaugh, 39, of Dacula, won $1 million playing “50X The Money,” the Georgia Lottery announced on Monday.

Williams, who with her husband Troy has an adult daughter, said in a Georgia Lottery press release that she “cannot believe it.”

“I just keep asking everybody to validate it,” she said, also noting that she plans to be “very smart” and “very conservative” about how she spends her money.

Bronaugh, who has a son with her husband Neil, bought her ticket during a lunch break. She works in a medical office found her prize on the scratch-off ticket while at her desk.

She started screaming when she won, she said, describing the moment as “pure shock.”

“I had to ask a co-worker if it was real,” Bronaugh said. “I started screaming, then everyone else started screaming.”

Bronaugh plans to pay off bills with the lottery money.

The winning tickets were sold at Chevron McDonough at 898 Highway 81 E. in McDonough and Sam’s Mart #0513, 3125 Lenora Church Rd. in Snellville.
