Women flee beauty store with stolen weaves

Nov 9, 2011

A surveillance video caught a group of women stealing expensive hair from a southwest Atlanta beauty store Tuesday afternoon, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The women pretended to be customers, browsing before grabbing the hair and bolting from the store on Cascade Road.

After running out of the front door with the stolen merchandise, the women jumped into a dark-colored SUV and got away, the report said.

Police are investigating.

Hair thefts have been a growing problem in metro Atlanta. In August, at least three beauty supply stores were broken into in a 10-day period, and thieves took more than $100,000 worth of hair from a store in Morrow in September.
