A southeast Georgia woman was killed by her boyfriend’s pit bull, according to a media report.
Michelle Wilcox, 30, was found dead Monday night at a residence in Screven County, the Statesboro Herald reported.
Wilcox, who was a meat inspector with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, was familiar with the pets at the residence and had handled them safely several times, according to the report.
The Newington Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol assisted the Screven County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. Also, Georgia Bureau of Investigation forensics personnel worked the death scene.
Screven County is about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta.
