A 34-year-old woman was killed Monday morning in a crash in Athens-Clarke County, authorities said.
Ma De Lorena Carrillo-Flores was traveling westbound on Atlanta Highway near the Old Cleveland Road intersection at about 7 a.m. when her 2006 Toyota Camry hydroplaned, veered into the eastbound lanes, and collided with another vehicle, according to the Athens-Clarke County police.
The Camry was struck by a 2007 Nissan X-Terra that was driven by Susan Puckett of Statham. Carrillo-Flores died at the scene, police said. Puckett was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.
No citations were issued and the investigation continued.
