The Georgia Meth Project will announce the winner of its Red Ribbon Week Arts and Drama Contest Friday.

The contest was open to Cobb County middle and high school students. Participants were given the opportunity to create a seven-minute video or 20-minute live performance inspired by the Georgia Meth Project “Not Even Once” campaign.

The winning school will receive a $500 check to promote substance abuse prevention. An additional $500 will be awarded to the school in the spring after students create and implement a meth prevention activity. The award will be announced at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Cooper Middle School in Austell.

The goal of the Georgia Meth Project is to significantly reduce methamphetamine use in the state.
