Habitat for Humanity announced Monday that Whirlpool Corp. has exceeded  its 2009 commitment to Habitat Restore outlets with product donations.

Whirlpool, which makes home appliances, had pledged $1 million in products, but exceeded that contribution with  $9 million more worth of products.

Habitat Restore sells used and surplus building supplies at reduced prices. There are 700 Restores in 48 states and 60 in Canada, according to Georgia-based Habitat.
