Which Fulton County high schools are the best in the state?

In addition to an award-winning band program and a multi-million dollar facility, this Fulton County high school has gained another coveted distinction.

For the second year in a row, John's Creek's Northview High School ranked No. 3 on the list of the Top 100 High Schools in Georgia by Niche.com, a national publication and website that ranks K-12 schools and colleges for its students' test scores, health and safety, and school culture.

Fulton County beats out the rest of metro Atlanta for the most schools on the list -- with six schools. John Creek's Northview High comes in third place, Suwanee's Lambert High takes the fourth and Johns Creek High rounds out Niche's top five list of Georgia high schools.

(Metro Atlanta almost entrirely make up the top five high schools in the state, save for Columbus High's second place ranking.)

Niche developed the ranking from the school districts' latest U.S. Department of Education data. The listing also includes self-reported data on test scores, college readiness and teacher quality.

The top 25 list of Georgia high schools includes five in Gwinnett County and three each in Cobb and DeKalb counties.

Forsyth and Fayette counties and Buford and Decatur city schools also made the list with one school each.
