UPDATE: Yilmaz Dogan, who said she took over ownership of the pizzeria more than six months ago, provided a report showing the restaurant scored a 100/A on a re-inspection Tuesday. The new report has not yet been posted to the Fulton County health inspection page.

“I would like to let you know that we are taking the reported problems seriously and taking all necessary measures to resolve these issues,” Dogan said in an email following the failed health inspection.

ORIGINAL STORY (published Jan. 25): A Milton pizzeria failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting "accumulated black debris" on a dishwashing area wall.

I Love N.Y. Pizza, located at 980 Birmingham Road in the Birmingham Village plaza, scored a 50/U following the Monday evaluation. The report lists the establishment names as "I Love N.Y. Pizza & Attila's Grill," but the latter appears to be permanently closed.

Calls to the restaurant went unanswered during business hours, and a voicemail was not returned Wednesday morning.

According to the report, the manager lacked proof of a food manager certification.

Officials also reported encrusted material on a can opener blade and a dirty microwave.

Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
