Alpharetta firefighters freed a deer whose antlers had become entangled in a hanging object, and someone thought to film it.
The video shows the animal running around the tree in an effort to get loose.
Once they can get close enough, the firefighters use a blanket to hold the deer’s antlers against a tree while they cut the object.
“I know, buddy, hold on,” one man is heard saying while the deer struggled.
“You’re almost free, man,” someone says.
Once released, the deer quickly ran off into the woods, stumbling a little on the way.
“That’s how it’s done,” the person who filmed the four-minute video says, laughing.
Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon said it appeared officials were alerted after a person discovered the entrapped deer.
A police officer responded to the call, and firefighters from Fire Station 86, at 3275 Kimball Bridge Road, found the deer in the wooded Big Creek Greenway area behind the station.
“Now Santa has all of his (deer),” Gordon said in an email.
