DA wants life without parole for Sneiderman widow

DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James revealed Monday he will seek a sentence of life in prison without parole for Andrea Sneiderman, charged with her husband's murder.

The punishment would match that given to her alleged co-conspirator, Hemy Neuman, convicted in March of fatally shooting Rusty Sneiderman outside a Dunwoody daycare facility in November 2010.

The widowed mother of two was arrested Aug. 2 after a DeKalb grand jury handed down an eight-count indictment accusing her of plotting the murder so she and Neuman "could enjoy a life together, eliminate Neuman's debt problems and fully benefit from the assets the Sneidermans had acquired as well as the proceeds of Rusty Sneiderman's life insurance policies."

Sneiderman has denied any involvement in her husband's death and has consistently refuted allegations she was involved in an affair with Neuman, her former boss. She is being held in DeKalb County jail pending an Aug. 21 bond hearing.
