A Union City mother and two others charged in the death of her infant daughter waived their first court hearings Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Police charged the three family members in the death of the nine-month-old baby, who was found face down and unresponsive in her crib at home on Monday.
The mother, Cella Copeland, has been charged with murder and cruelty to children in the death of the infant. The stepfather, Otis Lee Bennett, faces murder, cruelty to children and aggravated assault charges.
Another family member in the household, Hetty Bennett, has been charged with cruelty to children. Police would not say how Bennett is related to the infant.
The three are being held in Fulton County Jail.
Police were called to the girl's home in the 6000 block of Goodson Street on Monday afternoon.
Medical personnel performed CPR on the child until the child was pronounced dead at South Fulton Medical Center, according to Union City police spokeswoman Detective Gloria Hodgson.
Hodgson had no other details about how the child died. She said Union City authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Doctors suspect the baby was a victim of "Shaken Baby Syndrome," according to Channel 2. Police told Channel 2 the house was filled with trash, was infested with insects and had no electricity or gas.
