Update: Tabla passed a Tuesday re-inspection with a 98/A. Two violations were noted: torn gaskets in coolers at the bar and no trash can in the employee restroom.

Original story (published Sept. 29): An upscale Indian restaurant failed a recent health inspection, Fulton County records show.

Tabla in Midtown scored a 69/U following the Wednesday evaluation. Scores below 70 are considered failing. Its prior score, from June 2016, was a 100/A.

According to the report, the restaurant had an expired certified food safety certificate.

Officials also reported observing improperly thawed raw chicken and no hot water at a kitchen sink.

According to a spokeswoman for the restaurant, Tabla is “working to correct the minor infractions” and anticipates a strong passing score upon re-inspection.

“Tabla takes our food prep and maintenance very seriously, and we assure the public we are working diligently to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations when they dine with us,” the statement said.

Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
