The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation has named Jonathan H. Poston director of Hay House and senior director of properties.
The move is effective May 7.
He replaces Matt Davis, who accepted a curatorial position at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.
Poston will direct the nonprofit preservation organization's efforts as it looks to other historic sites in the future and will manage all aspects of Hay House, a National Historic Landmark. His duties will include supervising development, educational and marketing efforts for the house museum, managing staff and coordinating ongoing preservation efforts.
He is the author of "The Buildings of Charleston and holds a graduate degree from the College of William and Mary and a law degree from the University of Richmond.
