UPDATE: At 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, Johns Creek officials said the gas leak was "under control" and the road was reopened. City officials did not say what caused the leak.

A gas leak has caused heavy traffic and delays on a road in north Fulton County.

The road impacted by the gas leak is Kimball Bridge Road, also known as Highway 120. The city of Johns Creek has flaggers on-site and has consolidated traffic to one lane between State Bridge Road and Jones Bridge Road as crews work.

The cause of the gas leak has not yet been determined.

Police said there is heavy traffic in the area and aren’t sure how long repairs will take.

The fire department and public works crews are also on the scene.

The leak was first reported by the city’s Twitter account around 2:45 p.m.
