MARTA officials are advising riders to allow extra time for trips on Saturday due to track repairs that will reduce service on some rail lines.

Service on the "Red" and "Gold" lines will be affected, MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson said.

She said Red Line trains will only operate between the North Springs and Lindbergh stations, meaning that trains between Lindbergh and the Airport station will be running at a reduced frequency of every 20 minutes.

"Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh in order to continue southbound," Hodgson said. "Customers traveling northbound from the airport will need to transfer to a Red Line train at Lindbergh to continue to North Springs."

At the East Point station, all trains will board on the northbound platform, Hodgson said.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience as we conduct this work to keep our system operating at its highest level," she said.
