Forsyth County officials Friday sealed a time capsule inside the new Forsyth County Courthouse in downtown Cumming, placing it behind the building’s cornerstone on the front side.

The Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit asked the public’s help for time capsule donations, gathering in photographs of present-day Forsyth County, winning essays from middle and high-school students, and citizen accounts of past courthouses, all of which were placed in the capsule.

The 158,000 square-foot courthouse opened March 16.
