Fayette County is accepting applications to fill three open seats on its Hospital Authority.

The five-member volunteer board consists of business and community leaders who help arrange financing as outlined in the Hospital Authorities Law. Preference is given to doctors and registered nurses, but other qualifications can include prior experience with hospitals and health systems, public health departments, previous service boards, financial management and leadership developing cooperative working relationships. The open terms begin June 1 and expire on May 31, 2024.

The Board of Commissioners will recommend candidates but the Hospital Authority makes the final selection among those nominees. Details and applications are at www.fayettecountyga.gov, and must be submitted to the county clerk by May 15.
