Entering and exiting Krog Street Market may get a little easier.

The intersection of Krog and Irwin streets, frequented by bikers, shoppers and drivers, is now a 4-way stop. Previously, there were only stop signs on Krog Street.

Crosswalk stripes have also been added, said Christina Cruz-Benton, a spokeswoman for the City of Atlanta. There are no plans to add more signs to the Inman Park intersection.

The measure was sponsored by Councilman Kwanza Hall and adopted in October.

The legislation reads, "the installation of an all-way stop controlled intersection at this location will provide a safer crossing for pedestrians, meet the needs of the community and address traffic safety concerns."

The intersection has been a hot topic on Nextdoor, the private neighborhood social network, with users saying they hope the improvements increase visibility and safety. But, some have noted that not all drivers have noticed the changes.

A Nextdoor user wrote about a driver almost being hit turning left onto Krog from Irwin, and watched at least five cars roll through the new stop sign.

The "all-way stop" was backed by the Inman Park Neighborhood Association.
