Atlanta Thai eatery passes health re-inspection with a B

Georgia has rules it requires every food service operation to follow.

UPDATE: Thai 5 passed a re-inspection on Friday. Violations included "dust and old food debris on floors, walls, and ceiling," "food debris on shelves, floors of equipment, and along gaskets" and black substance inside of an ice machine.

ORIGINAL (published Nov. 30): A Thai restaurant in Little Five Points failed a recent health inspection, Fulton County records show.

Thai 5 scored a 58/U following the Thursday evaluation. Scores below 70 are considered failing.

According to the report, an inspector observed “excessive fly activity throughout the facility” and a “failure to properly remove multiple dead insects throughout the facility.”

Officials also reported observing that the venue was “in need of a thorough deep cleaning.”

A woman who answered the phone at the restaurant Friday afternoon said a manager was not immediately available.

The location’s prior score, from April, was an 88/B. The restaurant also failed an inspection in July 2017.

Other Atlanta restaurants to fail recently are China Dragon and WokDragon.
