Two teens have been arrested in connection with recent BB gun attacks in Athens.

Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow said Charles Anthony Horton, 18, of Winterville and Joshua Carney, 17, of Athens were arrested for the assault of an 11-year-old girl who was shot with a BB gun on Sunday as she walked down Cedar Shoals Drive.

Both teens were charged with felony aggravated assault and booked into the Clarke County Jail early Friday. They were being held without bond late Friday morning.

Sorrow said that the investigation is continuing, and other charges are pending.

In other incidents last weekend, a man jogger said he felt a pain in his thigh and later found a BB embedded in his leg and the drivers of two vehicles reported that someone in an oncoming car fired at them, shattering a window. Neither driver was hurt.
