A 17-year-old from Norcross is being held without bond after being charged with a Jan. 7 murder.

A 17-year-old from Norcross is in jail without bond after being charged with murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Jefrey Alexander Rios was booked into Gwinnett County Jail on Monday evening, accused of fatally shooting Christian Daniel Carrillo, 17, in an attempted robbery Jan. 7. Warrants said Rios pointed a gun at Carrillo, demanding money and marijuana, and shot Carrillo in the chest.

All three charges Rios faces are felonies. His first court appearance was Wednesday.
