The Sugar Hill Arts Commission will unveil the city’s new art installation during a ceremony at 3 p.m. Feb 12 at the east-facing exterior wall of the former City Hall, 4988 West Broad St.

The building now functions as The Suite Spot, a business incubator and co-working space that will host an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the ribbon cutting. The mural depicts local artist Jennie Osiek’s interpretation of the city’s slogan, “The Sweet Life.”

The project was a collaborative effort among the Downtown Development Authority, Arts Commission, the Historic Preservation Society, the Youth Council and The Sugar Hill Business Alliance. Discussions are already underway for the next art installment in Downtown Sugar Hill.

Mural artist Jennie Osiek best summed up the project, “I’m so proud and thankful to be a part of a community that genuinely cares about the arts. Art is a visual form of a beautifully written novel. I cannot image a sweeter life than one that is surrounded by the sunlight of love.”
